Personal Evaluation

Personal evaluation in regarding to skills assessment is really necessary because it gives understanding of skills one presently have and skills wish to acquire. By conducting a personal evaluation, I can have a clear picture of skills I have and what aptitudes I want to acquire. As said, I will evaluate myself assessing skills I have and create a SWOT analysis that will give a figure of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats related to assignment I have decided to accomplish.

Assessment of Skills 

Being a computing student, I have developed many technical skills leaning towards different types of programming languages and studying research in previous semesters have developed urge to explore new ideas with critical evaluation. Studying Business intelligence and visualization last semester intrigued me with all machine learning theories and algorithms. The manipulation of data to understand the underlying information and visualizing it to gain knowledge pulled me towards data. The set of skills mentioned  are essential to the assignment, I am set to embark on. 

Set of skills I have:
  • Data analysis and visualization
  • Basic knowledge of machine learning algorithms
  • Academic research works
  • Critical thinking and evaluation
The skills I want to gain or improved upon are:
  • Research and implementation
  • Python programming language
  • Machine Learning algorithms
  • Natural Language Processing
  • Sentiment Analysis
Gaining and improving the skills mentioned above will amend a successful model and add up to skills I have now. By the means of research, i will get to know various types of machine learning algorithms,techniques that are been used and focus on a specific one that gives the upmost result. Since, python is known as a top programming language, learning this language will help me to get to know about numerous syntax, functions, libraries and how data science is incorporated and coded here. In the basis of these fundamentals, I will develop a sentiment analyzing model.
